Why an in-house workshop rather than a $60 import
An LED neon is not a product you buy, it is an assembly we stand behind. On AliExpress or Temu, the price is bait. Once mounted on a professional wall, the PVC tube cracks within six months, the power supply overheats and the colour yellows. We handcraft every neon in our own workshop, using fully traceable components.
One-piece silicone tube, not coated PVC
Our flexible LED tube is pro-grade silicone, UV-stabilised throughout rather than just on the surface. It withstands −25 °C to +50 °C, does not yellow and resists splashes. It is the only way to reach the advertised 100,000-hour lifespan.
12 V CE-certified power supply
Low-voltage transformer load-tested, with thermal protection and CE certified. No risk of overheating or short-circuit, unlike the unmarked import power supplies found in low-cost models.
In-house workshop, full traceability

Illuminated signs in the United Kingdom: deemed consent or express consent
That distinction decides what you have to do. A neon fitted indoors, not visible from the street, falls outside any procedure. As soon as it becomes a sign that can be read from outside, it comes under the advertisement control regime, and two routes open up: deemed consent, or express consent, to be applied for from your local planning authority.
What the law requires of an illuminated sign
Let us start with what it does not require: no national obligation forces you to switch your sign off at night, in any of the four nations. The standard conditions of the 2007 regulations deal with the owner's permission, road safety and maintenance, not with operating hours. Your local authority can, however, set illumination hours in an express consent, and excessive lighting can still be challenged as a statutory nuisance under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
The real question is consent. In England, a business sign has deemed consent if it meets every one of the Class 4B conditions: static illumination, with no intermittence, flashing or animation, fitted at a height of between 2.5 m and 4.6 m, characters of no more than 0.75 m, an area of less than one sixth of the façade, and luminance capped at 600 cd/m² up to 10 m² of illuminated area, 300 cd/m² beyond that. Failing a single condition tips the sign into express consent. Two situations call for it in any case: in a conservation area no illuminated sign is covered, and on a listed building a separate listed building consent is added. The caps differ in Wales and Northern Ireland, and Scotland sets none. Displaying without consent is an offence, and it is the trader whose business the sign advertises who answers for it, with a fine of up to £2,500 and £250 for each day the sign stays up.
What we supply to keep it simple
Every neon ships with an infrared remote and a dimmer. One practical point to remember: deemed consent assumes static illumination. A flash mode or an animated sequence takes you outside it, whereas a fixed monochrome neon stays within the rules. So we deliver at fixed brightness by default, and the dimmer is there to set the intensity, not to animate the sign.
Tell us in the form whether the sign will be visible from the street, and whether your premises are in a conservation area or on a listed building: that is what decides the procedure, and therefore the lead time. The backing, the IP65 weatherproofing and the mounting are not the same for a façade as for an interior, and neither is the pricing.
